NEW HEAD COACH

Kenosha Wrestling Club is pleased to announce that Mike Lopez has accepted the Head Coaching position for the program! 

His wrestling qualifications and experience will be a great addition to our team. He is dedicated to bringing his high level coaching skills and intensity into our wrestling room.

Mike grew up in Libertyville, Illinois and started wrestling in 7th grade for Highland Middle School and the Wrestling Factory. He went to Libertyville High School and then Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where he majored in Accounting. He then went on to coach High School wrestling at Libertyville for a year and then UW-Parkside, where he is starting his 3rd season as Asst. Coach. Some of his hobbies, other than wrestling, include deer hunting and fly fishing.   Here are some of his qualifications:

  • Libertyville High School
  • 3x State Qualifier
  • 3x Conference Champion
  • 120-31
  • Luther College (Decorah, Iowa)
  • 3x National Qualifier
  • 2x All-American (Jr. - 4th) (Sr. - 1st)

REGISTRATION 2009-2010

Early Registration will be on November 30th @ 6pm in the Tremper High School Lunch area.. We will also have a second registration on Wednesday December 2nd the first day of practice.  

 

(REGISTRATION FORM)

• Registration Fee: $80 per wrestler

• Family discount: 2nd wrestler is $70, 3rd wrestler is $60, etc. (maximum discount is $50 per family)

• One registration form per wrestler along with copy/proof of birth certificate is required upon registration

PRACTICE INFORMATION:

• Practice Start date: Wednesday, December 2, 2009

• Practice days: Mondays & Wednesdays

• Practice times: 6:30pm - 8:00pm

• Practice location: Tremper High School Wrestling Room

• Practice End date: late March - early April 2010

• Attire: appropriate gym clothes must be worn or kids may not be permitted to practice. (t-shirts, athletic shorts,

singlets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc.)

• Shoes: gym shoes or wrestling shoes must be worn (no street shoes please)

• Equipment is available for rent or purchase (see equipment form or Equipment Director for details)

• Shoes, head gear and singlet

2009 Kenosha Tremper Wrestling Camp

 

June 17-18, 2009 the Tremper Wrestling Team will be hosting the 5th Annual Wrestling camp in the Tremper High School Wrestling Room.

The featured clinician is AJ Kissel from Purdue University. AJ competed for the Boilermakers at the NCAA D1 Nationals this season and finished his sophomore season with a record of 30-10. He wrestled for Oostburg High School in Wisconsin where he finished his career as a 3X WIAA State Champion and a Runner Up finish. AJ posted a career record of 165-2.

The camp runs from 8:30am to 2:00pm daily. The cost is $40 which includes quality instruction, lunch, and a camp T-shirt.
